In this time of Covid, my encaustic series, Figures, speaks to the confinement and despair. While works in this series appear to be simply photography, they are in fact mixed media. The base images taken by me, are covered by several layers of encaustic media (beeswax and tree gum), and modified by painting with PanPastels on top of the encaustic medium. The bottom third of “Innocence”, has been painted on top of the wax medium.
