ARTIST STATEMENT
Breath. Our lifeline. Our measure of existence. What are we left with when breath is taken away? Grief, anxiety, isolation and panic co-exist with breath for many of us. Traditionally, the Elecampane plant dispels melancholy. In this piece, it was my intention to explore the connection and supportive power of living things weaving together. Reminding us that healing is communal, non-linear and like the breath, an ongoing, vital life process.
