How do we meet the challenges that the world is throwing at us today? Do we meet them head on – “double dare”? Do we collapse under their weight and feel trapped? What is our emotional response to today’s plentiful issues? Do we have the resources of family, friends, spirituality, religion or counselling? We need to know what holds us down and what lifts us up to keep us in balance.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gail is an artist, teacher and therapist who enjoys life amid nature in southeastern Wisconsin, after growing up in the Chicagoland experience. Her degrees and studies include the Art Institute, the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois. Her varied careers also include a decade of playing music in various bands as a bass guitarist.
Gail is a multimedia artist who uses photography, mixed media and found objects to create work that spans the gap between two and three dimensions. Images are paramount, but the sensuality of color and texture are an important aspect of her pieces, hinting at stories that need to be told. Exhibition venues include ARC Gallery, The Art Institute of Chicago, Koehler Museum, Koehnline Museum, Museum of Wisconsin Art, National Museum of Mexican Art, Racine Art Museum, Rockford Art Museum, Woman Made Gallery, Wright Museum of Art.
