mixed media, found objects in copper box
Two themes are dominant in my work in which I strive to evoke an emotive response, call forth memory, or arouse a sense of play in the viewer.
First, I explore the journey through hope, loss, and fragmentation during love, marriage, and divorce. I also delve into the random order and perceived chaos of fertility, birth, death, and resurrection. Insects, plants, and sometimes human figures are the subjects and objects of the inter-connected narratives. Archetypes and myths appear, as do historical and religious details, poems, analogies, and metaphors.
