I have been a potter for many years. I enjoy molding, throwing, bending, and altering the clay. I throw or hand-build a pot, and I will carve into the clay, creating pleasant textures and patterns. I wish to create a pot that is special, which cannot be duplicated.
My technique is to combine an array of glazes so that they react with each other. As a result, the pottery becomes its own. Finally, I wipe off the glaze to expose the body itself, which only leaves a hint of color. This creates a beautiful pigment and a unique finish. I have worked with different firing techniques including soda firing, raku, cone 6 and cone 10. I have enjoyed experimenting with all these techniques to create beautiful pottery.
