My works are mixed media collages. I have used vintage fabric, domestic objects, clothespins, buttons, stitching, dye, pastel, ink and encaustic.

The subject matter is derived from sacred scripture, historical studies and American critical theory on feminist art history.

The works explore the effects of women’s struggles within patriarchy. I used the book of Proverbs, Chapter 31, IX (The Ideal Wife), for inspiration. The pieces represent teachings regarding activity, power, morality and women’s work!

My work pays spiritual tribute spanning the ages to women who came before me and who, like me, have experienced much turmoil in their lives, and have used art as a challenge and refuge.
