The focus of my work is the nexus of the distinctive cultural nuances and individualism that makes us unique. **** I believe that it is important to document these stories visually and understand the subjects within them. **** Engaging the viewer and spurring introspection is my goal. I want my audience to be affected conceptually to the point that these images resonate long after the moment of interaction, beyond the facile smiling faces to those images that demand thought—not mere photography, but image-making. *****Kasha Stewart is a graduate of Howard University Fine Art Division.

I create art because I can’t imagine life without my visual voice to tell my stories. The focus of my work is the nexus of the distinctive cultural nuances and individualism that makes us unique. I believe that it is important to document these stories visually and understand the subjects within them.
