ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork expresses the dignity within emotionality and is unafraid to show the depth of its feelings. By valuing transparency, I want to show the strength in sensitivity and utilize emotionality as a tool towards seeking understanding on a common ground.
I draw philosophical influences from Tibetan Buddhism to exemplify the universal benefit in showing one’s authentic being. Often, it seems like we want to hide our pain, or the aspects of ourselves that are ugly. However, by doing so, we shut ourselves off from the potential to relate to others and inadvertently create more pain for the world.
My paintings and sculptures are honest and open. The generosity in leaving oneself vulnerable un-expectantly grows one’s confidence.
