It is the simple, practical and at times vigorous act of walking down a city street or forest preserve path that connects me to the cycles of the natural world and the rhythm of the structured space. I like to explore this cadence by playing with the balance between the intentional and accidental interaction of lice and shape. To help facilitate this initial intuitive process, I look to methods of recording nature and the man-made world, such as astrological maps and architectural drawings, for inspiration.
