These paintings of domestic spaces introduce rooms that are in various stages of disorder. The spaces represent sites of interrupted activity, where the presence of a human figure is alluded to through evidence left behind. Sometimes, the figure is replaced by an object, such as a discarded item of clothing, or makes an appearance on a mirror’s surface. The items left behind represent an aftermath of sorts, inviting speculation as to the occurrences within the rooms.
