My subject matter is usually organic, and I try to pick objects that are sensuous and tactile in nature. I work in oil on wood panel or canvas. Occasionally I’ll add gold or Japanese silver leaf as a background.

I use traditional materials and craft with more modern subject and sensibility. In my best work, my subjects look “better than real.” By this I mean I create mood, atmosphere, and design in an environment that’s semi-fantastic yet believable at the same time. I want the viewer to desire to be in the painting and to get lost in it.
