The central theme to my work explores the relationship of reality and the perception of reality viewed through one’s filters. My work is inspired by images in reality, which become distorted and geometrically abstracted based on my feelings and the happenings of the day. As the artwork develops, it changes direction, look, and feel much like one’s recollection of reality may be changed based on their filters. Ultimately, a new reality is created for the piece and the truth becomes a distant memory.
