Iris Graham Vazquez

Iris Graham Vazquez was born and lived most of her life in the southeastern United States and presently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Although she had always wanted to pursue a career in the arts, it was not until a chance meeting in Italy with sculptor Hans Sasser when Vazquez was encouraged to pursue her sculptural ability. She left her former career to pursue her passion as an artist. Studying under the tutelage of Russian artist Albert Shvilly and Santa Fe sculptor Dean Howell, she developed her style and technique. Texture and raw emotion are an integral part of Vazquez’ work often drawing from close familial ties and strong community.
