ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is primarily focused in political and social commentary. This piece is a part of my “Wandering Wombs” series in which I portray women and AFAB people through anthropomorphized uteri. “Dance With Me” is a playful sculpture depicting two uteri locked mid dance. While this is a more light hearted piece, I use a variety of media to portray how I see the world as a woman and how the world sees and treats me and people like me. At times this can be blatantly grotesques, and other times it may appear as a beautiful façade. Issues surrounding women’s and LGBTQIA+ rights are two points that hit close to home for me and, therefore, are heavily addressed in my work.
