Passages from an antique children’s primer are the inspiration for the imagery in my “Weather Dressing” series. The original story is the metamorphosis of a raindrop. In ancient Asian mythology water often assumed a female character. Obscure phrases and childlike images create a personal mythology that explores feelings of self and place as a contemporary woman.
