As a girl, I never dreamed of my wedding dress or fantasized my wedding day. As an adult, marriage was an afterthought, registered only by the disappearance of friends into ‘marital bliss.’ Somehow I did get married, trenched through my own wedding and wrestled with the implications of married life. My fascination with the definition of a ‘wife’ led me to vintage etiquette guides and housekeeping manuals. My current work explores and reflects these experiences and my personal struggle to define my identity as both an individual and member of a wonderful partnership.
