My interest in women’s rights has only deepened in the aftermath of a so-called “first world” swing toward fascism.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Having had a life long fascination with textiles, art, and world cultures, Deborah Hirshfield made art in Mexico, pursued degrees in art, music, and education, taught In Chicago Public schools, retired, and continued where she left off, with fiber art in batik, shibori, and sculpture. She has exhibited her work since 1970.
