ARTIST STATEMENT
Walking into a fabric store as a child, I would run my hand over all the bolts of fabric as I passed them. That love of fabric and texture has never left me. Over time I have expressed that love as a garment maker, then a quilter, and now as a textile artist.
After immersing myself in line and black and white for several years, much of my current work also includes shape and color while some features text. This expansion encourages exploration of subjects and feelings with more subtlety and depth while allowing my continued use of a limited color palette to evoke serenity and stillness, perhaps with a touch of drama or mystery.
Our world changes at a fast pace and I hope my work provides a place for our souls to pause and be restored.
