It is my intention to educate and initiate conversation about weapons currently deployed in Iraq, and to question the validity and rationalization for using them. Represented in this series is the USAF A-10 ground attack aircraft, which carries the General Electric GAU-8 Avenger 30-mm cannon that is capable of firing 70 Depleted Uranium (DU) projectiles per second. Each round contains .66 pounds of DU, which is a byproduct of the uranium enrichment process that remains radioactive for 4.5 billion years.
