Anti-War March, NYC, Mar. 22 ’03
A huge turn-out, a glorious day, a very exciting event to photograph. My style of overlapping the exposures as I shoot worked particularly well with this series in capturing the size and energy of the crowd. People of all ages, races, and nationalities are depicted passing in and out of the frame. The bobbing hand-made signs express the gamut from clever humor to gut-wrenching sentiment as we pushed forward for peace through the canyons of the city.
