Carron Little is Scottish American and lives in Chicago, USA. She works as an interdisciplinary artist creating public engagement projects for cities and neighborhoods. Her work starts with interviewing the public. After one to one interviews with people she writes poetry inspired by the conversation. The poetry becomes the starting point for performance, sculpture and an interdisciplinary art practice. Carron works in the persona of queen of luxuria who has a conceptual practice defined by modes of deconstructing power.
Little received a Bachelor of Art in Textiles from Goldsmiths’ College, London, U.K. and her Master of Fine Arts from School of the Art Institute of Chicago were she taught and worked in the Performance program from 2014 to 2018. Little was artist in residence for Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events in 2014 to develop a public performance project entitled City Alive with Dreams. She has performed at Chicago Cultural Center, 6018North, Hyde Park Art Center, MCA, Defibrillator, Open House Chicago, The Loge Theater, Lucerne, Switzerland, Hatch Art, Detroit, Burren College of Art, Ireland, Sarajevo Winter Festival in Bosnia, Woerdz Spoken Word Festival in Switzerland, Water Tower Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria at ONE Gallery and The Art Academy in Riga, Latvia to name a few. She has exhibited at Slow Gallery, Gallery A + D in Highland Park, Willard Winkelman Gallery, Ohio, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, The Institute of Infinite Possibility, Berlin, Germany and Marrakesh, Morocco.
