My work is about fundamental questions of the relationship of space, of location and observation, of experience and insight. As I work, complex and new sensory connections open up.

I am influenced by travel, movement, landscape, nature, science, quilts; and by my need to make connections between the multiplicity of experiences that make up modern life. For example, I see patterns linking experiences as seemingly diverse as walking in the woods in Alabama and driving the freeways of Los Angeles; as dissimiliar as the view of the Chinese landscape as seen from an airplane window and plastic packaging for everyday objects.

As I am working, I am weaving together all these diverse experiences and influences to create work that is deeply reminiscent and oddly representative of what truly moves and touches me.
