Each home has a history or a memory; the frayed, scratched, and worn-down areas attest to the long-term memory created by the individuals that have lived there. These memories may also be short-term, represented by a pin caught on the carpet or the hair left behind on a mattress or bathtub. These photographs are evidence of the human presence and psychologies manifested through the imperfections and wounds to the surfaces of the home.

Amy Wainwright was born and raised in Toledo, OH. She is currently living and working in Chicago, where she recently graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Masters in Fine Arts Photography. Amy received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University in 2004.
