Art is the ability to take something from one’s thoughts and translate it into the world for others to see. I paint to show that the modern world is not so very removed from the interests, conflicts, and spirits of history. I paint the echoes and influences of the past on the present.

My primary medium is egg tempera, the historical technique of applying homemade egg paints to plaster panels. The preparation and care needed to make each work a kind of meditation.
