Jessica Meuninck-Ganger: Planograms
Planograms is a compendium of diverse social architectures and artifacts. It includes carefully organized collections of visual and textual curiosities gathered during travels and displayed as what could be considered arrangements of tools in an artisan’s workshop, wares and goods, and/or cabinets of undefined wonders.
“In South Korea, I learned about Hanji, a paper described to last over 1,000 years. Inspired by this paper and traditional Korean conservation techniques, I rendered local architectures, seemingly ephemeral and in despair, in order to preserve their lives and histories. Each printed structure is built in honor of community, craft, and re-imagining tradition. Sources include prints of personal sketchbook pages, videos, photographs, and found ephemera – remixed, printed, projected, and assembled into layered, multi-dimensional assortments.” – Jessica Meuninck-Ganger
