ARTIST STATEMENT
Do you really believe that the moment you are in is reality? If so, how would you prove that every moment in your life belongs to reality. I make my works just to enjoy the moment that may or may not be real.
Sometimes I have being vivid dreams such that it feels so real. When I was a child, I had nightmares that I was chased, shackled, or not even be able to scream out. I was very afraid of going to bed at night. It was so hard for me that I was not even able to relax at the end of the day. I felt like I was loosing my way in the gloom of a dense forest, a place where I went for a walk to relax my mind. Everything I observed in my dream was a different life that another “I” lived.
Scan lines of digital projection expressed through my pen markings in my work plays a role of connecting and breaking the boundary between the reality and the virtual reality that I call “DREAM.” Unclearness Indistinct boundaries lie of the boundary between the reality and dream as well as unexplainable Deja-Vu creates my hyper-reality. Therefore, my works circulates in an empty simulation where there is no boundary of the reality and dream as if it is in the Mobius strip.
