ARTIST STATEMENT
Collage can be a conversation, an argument or a rebuke. Piece by piece, the assembly of images allows me to juxtapose society’s terrors, absurdities and attempted narratives that explore and expose the surreal aspects of feminism, trauma and power. The Gambler’s Prayer was an example of a conversation; a collaborative piece born out of an anonymous pairing of a writer and an artist. The writer’s poem required me to create and manifest a visual counterpart to their written word culminating in a reveal at the end of the experiment.
