ARTIST STATEMENT
I achieve an almost meditative trance while assembling my photographs, etchings and ephemera, together with paint, spray paint and drawing, into resonant /dissonant vignettes with an elegiac tone. My inspirations include the work of artist Charles E. Burchfield, the frustration and sadness of living during the Sixth Mass Extinction, my early memories of towering elm trees, watching leaves and garbage appearing through melting ice in alleyways, and moments when light appears strange and compelling.
