I began the Ghost Trees project in 2014. I brought a series of porcelain “ghost trees” to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where the clear-pine used in my building presumably grew. In the summer of 2018 the trees were brought full circle to Finland, from where many of upper Michigan’s loggers emigrated. In this iteration, small wall reliefs include landscape photographs I completed in eastern Finland and Lapland.
