Mama’s Almost Dead #8
silver print
20 x 16 in.

Each day I am bombarded with the word ‘mother’ and only then am I reminded that my mother died when I was seven.

I am reminded that I am searching in others for something that I have never known. I search for mother of thirty years ago that no longer exists according to the expectations of those around me. I maintain that it is without the skin that we begin to break into a thousand pieces.
