“For several years I have been exploring ideas that come from the bible. One idea is the separation of men and women as shown by the bible story of Adam and Eve. These androgynous figures have been banished from the garden after having eaten from the tree of knowledge and will have to make their way in the world without each other.”

Fern Samuels received her Bachelor of fine Arts Degree with a minor in education from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois and her Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has retired from Columbia College, Chicago where she taught for twenty-five years as an Associate Professor in the Art Department. A scholarship was formed in her honor to be awarded to a top drawing student every year. She has had eighteen solo exhibits and twenty museum exhibits plus numerous group shows. She has won many awards in her continuing career. Samuels is a member of the National Society of Women Artists and is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women. Samuels is currently represented by Rosetta Stone Gallery – Jupiter, Florida and Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, Chelsea New York, NY.
