ARTIST STATEMENT
Wendy Robles is a Chicago-based artist who has created a visual language to describe the enigmatic presences existing in the natural world. She is interested in capturing the magical nature of these entities through the use of inanimate and natural-world subjects. A “presence” is often incorporated into her compositions and appears as a symbol reminiscent of two eyes, a signature element she uses to signify the guides of life. Her recent artistic journey has been increasingly influenced by scientific inquiry, delving into the interconnectedness of trees in a forest, the properties of botanical life, the rhythm of lunar cycles and celestial bodies, and the enigmatic allure of sacred geometry and mathematical patterns. A multi-media artist, Wendy explores the mysteries of the spirits that hide in plain sight.
