ARTIST STATEMENT
I’m a mother of four boys trying to navigate this ever changing world while providing a stable life for my children. In this painting I am exploring the concept of generational trauma and poverty through the decades, with myself at the forefront holding one of my sons as I try to climb out of the suffering into a better life. The suffering is in black and white and the little tiny bit of color represents the hope I’m reaching for.
