Flow Fragment
ceramics; 5 x 12 x 15 in.
I am a mixed media artist working in particular with ceramics and paintings. My works are the results of spontaneous interaction between my senses and the environment, from daily sceneries to material I work with. I enjoy the process in which fragments of visual memory evolve and take on different meanings in a new context.
My work for “One Planet, One Experiment” is extremely fragile, and constructed with thin paper clay or paper clay slip. The piece is reborn and transformed, recharged with new energy; I find this process positive and forgiving. “Flow Fragment” captures a moment in the perpetual flow of nature, where the thinness of the piece reflects the temporal instability of the ever changing environment.
