A life can seem so fragmented, and its parts often appear unrelated, yet because they comprise the sequence of events of one person’s existence they are a whole. My pieces explore this idea, and I like to use parts that seem unrelated but when combined become components of one greater entity. I use the figure as a metaphor for the structure of our individual lives, personalities, families, organizations, countries, and the human race. We are all made up of various components and have great individual differences but become a whole when grouped together (as pieces combined).
