ARTIST STATEMENT
I believe art has the power to help heal our traumas. What lies between the cracks is the truth we reveal, beautiful yet ugly, hopeful yet dark. By telling our stories and our struggles we shed light deep into the shadows. The wounded carry the truth. These three pieces speak to that notion. Step by step and piece by piece we put ourselves back together in the space between inside and outside, between good and evil is where most of us reside. Birth of the inevitable feminine energy is on the rise. I work with symbols to bring in the channeled energy.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am located in Dallas, Texas. I was born in Rezaiyeh, Iran. As a child in 1985, my family migrated to Fort Worth, Texas during the Iran-Iraq war. Having lived in many places from Iran to California and from New York City to London, these movements have heavily shaped the way I perceive the world. There is an aspect to my process that is unapologetically shaped by several years of education, training and practice of architecture. My love for colors and details within nature serves as my constant teacher. I am a nature lover, multi-cultural observer and when I’m not creating art or teaching I’m gardening or hiking.
