Focusing on the commemorative function of art, I painted Ah-Quon McElrath, a feminist and a life-time labor activist in Hawaii, after the Venetian painter Giorgione’s “Old Woman with Time,” but as a woman who conquered time. The opening shows excerpts from the mural at the ILWU building in Honolulu.
