CHICAGO — Woman Made Gallery presents “Seriously Funny”, a group exhibition juried by cartoonist Isabella Bannerman who is 1/6th of Six Chix, an all-women daily comic strip syndicated by King Features. Isabella Bannerman selected humorous work in a variety of media, most of it in cartoon format.
Exhibiting Artists: Rita Alves, Larissa Borteh, Estelle Carol, Mary Anne Case, Caitlin Cass, Amy Chace, Rona Chadwick, Robyn Chapman, Vera Curnow, Diane English, Mary Frisbee Johnson, Heather Klinkhamer, Kati Fernandez Lambert, Adrienne Lesperance, Emily Lindskoog, Peggy Lipschutz, Alisa McQuaid, Merrina Millsapp, Maria Scrivan, Sonya Stockton, and Ann Wilberton.
Juror: Isabella Bannerman has been a cartoonist since 1987, when she won first prize in The San Francisco Bay Guardian Cartoon Contest. Her work has appeared in many publications, including Good Housekeeping, Glamour, The Funny Times, Mamapalooza, and World War 3 Illustrated. A collection of her work, Pacifists in Bomber Jackets, was published in 1999 by Laugh Lines Press.
