The Moon Project – Moon Chart
graphite, china marker, ink on paper
18 x 24 in.
For over eight years I have been observing the moon and recording my observations in my journals. I compile these observations into charts which reveal the patterns of the moon and its movement.
The Moon Project – The North-South Shift Distilled
graphite, china marker, inks on graph paper
17 x 22 in.
I became aware that, like the sun, the moon shifts from north to south; but the moon shifts within each lunar month as well as with the seasons (as the sun does). This tic tac toe pattern records my observations. While based on information, I find these charts and drawings aesthetically appealing and surprising.
I would like to thank the Ragdale Foundation for support in producing this drawing.
