For the first twenty-two years of my life I lived in India and learned the values and cultural standards of my family. In the last four years, I have lived in the Western part of the world (USA and Rome).
The cultural shock of the west overwhelmed me. I felt an undeniable absence of my past. The lingual, spiritual and sensual differences between the West and the East initiated a surge of questions about diversity and my own individual role and image as a woman within this foreign society. The work serves both as a longing for my history as well as my present moments in the West.
