My most recent work centers around family and found still-lives in the home. Robotic fighting toys are juxtaposed against bedroom fabrics of paisley and chintz. Male and female “superhero/bad guys” burst forth from diamond patterns derived from simple quilt square geometry. The struggle for a balance and elegance in a life surrounded by the cluttered reality of family is played in these simple still-lives.
