My Life Is Plagued By Should (2019)

I have a diverse practice that moves fluidly between sculpture, photography and drawing, allowing my ideas to dictate media, form, and process. This work marks a conceptual transition for my work and focuses on new motherhood. While this work was made about my own experiences of Postpartum Depression, which 1 in 7 women experience, it takes on new meaning during these times of COVID-19. Having babies during this time of social distancing and isolation, and health and safety concerns, equates to an increase of stress and anxiety to an already exhausting experience of newborn care and postpartum healing.
