ARTIST STATEMENT
Rachel Mollie’s work spans poetry and visual art—each piece an invitation into a layered, tactile, and emotionally resonant experience. Through chapbooks, embroidered photography, and collage prints, she explores how image, texture, and language can coexist in quiet, powerful ways. Whether stitched, assembled, or written, each piece is created with care, cohesion, and an eye for subtle detail.
These one-of-a-kind artworks begin as original photographs, printed on cardstock. Each image is then hand-embroidered with thread, adding texture, depth, and symbolic complexity. The stitchwork transforms each photograph into a layered, tactile object—where material and memory meet. No two are alike. Each piece blends stillness and movement, softness and structure.
