Child’s ‘World of the War
acrylic on canvas
40 x 30 in.

Pat’s body of work pays homage to the sweet disorder that surrounds her in what she cals the interior landscapes of the busy family home. Through her paintings she comes to terms with her demons; the demons being the flux and chaos of motherhood and housework, common to so many women’s lives. She has faced them and befriend them: the befriending has grown into a powerful love and appreciation for these untamed landscapes that children have created. Pat reveres the realm of the imagination that comes alive through the children and their toys. With her art she captures this domestic wilderness of activity and play that is too often tidied up and civilized before it can be appreciated for its revealing inner life.
