Memory Collection #7
paper, beewax, used tea-bags, thread, Quail egg, cocoon…
3 1/8 x 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 in.
This Artist’s book is made as one of my Memory Collection project which deals with memories of trauma (memory of my childhood abuse experiences, experience of having an abortion, spiritual abuse by ex-boyfriend and separation. I pulled out all the pain I had in my memory, bound to heal myself and wish my “life transformation”. I created this book as a container of my memories. I used a wild silkworm moth image, a cocoon, and a small birl egg as a meterphore of life: egg with a red bib-origin of life but empty (unforgettable memory for me), moth-very short life (acceptence of anguish.) and cocoon-a process of transformation.
Description: Some pages, threads are sewn directly onto pages to count time (feeling of duration), to hide some words I typed with an antique typewriter
