My artwork is an extension of my social, political and psychological points of view. My personal experiences have had a big influence on the way my art develops. Growing up in a border city between Mexico and the US and having access to two completely different worlds, languages and atmospheres, has helped me establish a strong artistic reaction towards change. My artistic practice focuses mainly in colonization and multiculturalism in Latin America. In my work I explore the Mexican traditions and habits that were able to survive colonialism through photography, collage, performance and video.
