It’s the Curve of My Hips
stained glass
26.5 x 20.5 in.

My focus is to produce stained glass panels that are not your typical flowers and fleur-de-lys. I am inspired by abstracts, masks and elements of an object that allow the mind’s eye to fill in the missing pieces. I attempt to capture a mood/feeling in glass much the way a photographer uses the camera. Much as I incorporate the human form, I use abstract shapes, to express the curve of the hip or the strong lines of a bicep.

I received my training in glass at Pete Wade’s Stained Glass Studio. I am a member of the Chicago Artists’ Coalition. My panels have been displayed at Columbia College. On July 10, 2005, at my first juried event, I was awarded third place in fine arts.
