Freedom
stoneware, sawdust fire, underglaze, sand

For some, the price of freedom can never be too high, while for others, the cost is greater than one can ever imagine. After researching what cluster bombs are and how they work, I find it appalling that our country chooses to use weapons that maim and kill innocent civilians to win “Freedom”. “Freedom on the March” is what I keep hearing from our leaders but I can’t help but think that “Leave No Child Left Un-bombed” seems a more fitting description. This piece is dedicated to the families of Fallujah, Iraq, whose lives and homes have been destroyed by our — that is, yours and mine – policy of spreading “Freedom” throughout the world.
