Collage is a metaphor for life: bits and pieces of disparate materials (events) are manipulated and put together to make a completed work. Rarely does everything "fall into place". We take what is given us and move things around until we get the best composition we can manage with the material we have to deal with. I enjoy working in abstraction because it allows the viewer more freedom in interacting with the art. I am not delineating what is to be understood, but rather am inviting viewers to bring their own thoughts, ideas, and feelings to the piece. I really want to enter into dialogue with the viewer.
