ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist, I am a visual storyteller. Another part of my life is music, playing both the piano and harp. For my submission, I wanted to visualize music using the monotype print technique. As I created these original monotypes, I had my favorite music in the background as the colors and movement of what I heard materialized on paper. A curator has described my artwork as smart and thoughtful and dense with information; gorgeous with color. Mysterious and challenging…puzzles for the viewer to solve. My passion is to communicate emotion through visual media.
